UAE and Britain sign extradition agreement

The UAE and the United Kingdom have entered into three agreements on extradition of criminals and mutual cooperation in criminal, civil and commercial matters. The agreements were signed in London on 12 May 2006 by Yousuf Al Awadi, Justice Ministry"s assistant undersecretary for International Cooperation and Planning, and Robert Dean, deputy head of the British mission in Abu Dhabi. During their five-day talks, the two sides reviewed pending issues relating to extradition, capital punishment and recognition of verdicts passed by the courts in the two countries.
