Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, issued Law No.2 for year 2019 on 30 May 2019
which amended court fees applicable before Dubai Courts which chiefly aimed to
reduce court fees for commercial claims that do not exceed AED 500,000.
The Law provided that court fees for commercial claims that do not exceed AED
500,000 shall not exceed AED 5,000. Previously the maximum court fees payable
by the claimant for a claim of AED 500,000 were AED 20,000.
Furthermore, the maximum enforcement fees payable by the Claimant for enforcing
a judgment in commercial claims that do not exceed AED 500,000 are now AED
1,000 while it was previously AED 5,000.
